A Little Girl's Dream" is a series of vintage music boxes, whose assemblage has been manipulated in order to reimagine the traditional image of a ballerina.
The transformation of the music box from a delicate ballerina to a stripper reflects in an ironical way the shifting narratives imposed on women.
From childhood, women are often brought up with a certain image of themselves-one of purity and compliance. Yet, as they grow and their identities evolve, many find themselves, due to circumstances or to personal choices, in roles that divert from such expectations, resulting in public judgement and often criminalisation. When, in fact, in the face of bigotry, sex work is work.
